Re: [Request] Geocaching for N9

That's one of the things confusing many people. Although both maps are named "ovi maps" they are completely differnt things. Nokia didn't manage to give the map service of its qt framework access to...

Re: [Request] Geocaching for N9

Oh, wow ... i tried it and it is indeed much more useful than i expected it to be. Great!

There are two issues with Harmattan which also arise under Symbian and which i therefore had to implement...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

You didn't make a mistake. The way the packages work is just broken. Solution: Update all libqtm-12-(contacts, location, whatever, ...) packages manually beforhand and then libqtm-12 itself...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

Hmmm, seems more broken. The current CacheMe in extras-devel was compiled using the current autobuilder. The resulting binary doesn't work on the device since this unresolved symbol:

cacheme:...

Re: [Request] Geocaching for N9

I really don't care about the harmattan version and you are free to distribute it however you want.

This of course applies to anybody else, so if you charge money, someone else may just upload the...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?

Sounds trivial, eh? I have been doing that for nearly a year. This is currently paused (as most other adaptations are) since MeeGo/Arm switched to so the so called hardfp and all the closed source...

Unexpected cool features on n950

There are several features aready present on the n950 which i didn't expect or which required 3rd party tools on maemo5.

First of all: The exchange integration is great. I was sitting in the car...

Re: Latest big name departure from Nokia: Rich Green, CTO

The Titanic actually sank because they steered away as this maneuver caused the ship to be damaged by the iceberg over its full length damaging several seperated chambers. Would they have hit the...

Re: Is this true that the n9 will have flash with fennec ?

Still you are correct on that. In theory, programs not using any floats (or to be precise: not passing floats through function calls) may run on the oppsite platform. But you'd likely get other lib...

[ANNOUNCE]CacheMe, (initially) meego geocaching

Since quite some time i am maintaining a version of Cacheme in the extras-devel repository. It was initially written for MeeGo, but the lack of any meego hardware made me return to maemo and the...

Re: MeeGo on x86

Since you are asking for advise: Sell the laptop and buy him some legos, some finger paint and paper. $125 will give you plenty of better toys than a computer to have him watch cartoons.

That...

Re: On the massive success of the Nokia Innovators contest at bringing us quality N900 software

I don't know of a single Maemo developer (incl myself) who got more than around a hundred bucks donated in total for maemo apps.

Don't get me wrong, i don't do this for donations and i never...

Re: Using HDMI to charge the device

That's true. The purpose of this is to allow the source to drive ddc electronics inside the sink even if the sink isn't switched on. This way a computer can e.g. determine screen size and type...

Re: Latte macchiato vs. n900: 1:0

I don't know. I only had a minor gpxview release pending, so nothing really urgent. I just put the card back into my old k750i.

I don't think it makes sense to try to get it repaired as there's...

Latte macchiato vs. n900: 1:0

Gpxview always suffered from Maemo5's inablity to handle copy'n paste satosfyingly. The use-case for this typically is to copy equations from the main cache description to the notes page to work...
