I think you've run the application as root inbetween. Now it cannot access its database file anymore as normal user.

If you're using diablo, then you are automatically using modest as it is the built in client.

Yes autoscrolling is the one feature I miss on fbreader.

Go to fbreaders google-group (http://fbreader.org/support.php) and ask there, I think its author is not so active in the itt-forum.

@bvoss325: Do not go and install all the repos from gronmayer. It will mess with your ability to apply official Nokia updates later. Just look around on the forums here. I don't have an exact link...
