Or if that doesn't help:
$ killall -9 grob
With -9 flag it force kills the process. Useful in cases when some process has hung up and doesn't respond to kill signal telling it to exit cleanly.

if you mean tethering, than no, it wont work, because it sets the local gnome proxy through gconftool-2.
you could try and play with iptables when you are tethering your...

Nokia N9 alarm clock doesn't wake me up
Anyone sympathize?
The alarm clock sounds an alarm for exactly one minute and then goes to snoozy mode. Also the amount of snoozies is limited.
