How sweet. But.
How did you get/make these
And
Its probably not a very good idea to share these, they are property of Jolla, and not least, Qualcom.

this image was built with ks file using genunie jolla repositories.

How to use this image? The upgrade process on my Jolla C made a big failure and not only it doesn't boot anymore but "Reset device to factory state" does not work either.

well, best advice from me, dont use it.

What happened to you is s big warning sign to others, to not use some "random image". Even more when zero information is given.
Recovery, as you found out the hard way, may be impossible.

Re: Sailfish OS flashing files

I appreciate your advice but you didn't understand well the picture. I haven't touched this image at all yet, the device just got frozen with a regular OTA update (yeah, call it "my fault" because updates on the terminal are less likely to fail in my experience ). And what is even worse is that the recovery mode is not working either dumping some checksum error.

So, any way to restore it will be more than welcomed.

I can only access the phone in recovery mode. The boot log shows that the systemd init procedure gets stalled at the beginning but I don't have enough free time to look further in.

The checksum error seems to be from the filesystem normally mounted at /fimage

Thanks a lot! My Jolla C is back alive and updated to 3.0.0.5 at once. You've saved me from having to deal with recovery mode with no clear clue about what went wrong with the failed update.

Haven't damaged my Jolla 1 yet over the years, but I know a lot of users that will be saved by your share, especially as jolla has made no attemps to provide such files. I concur that it might be unsafe and somewhat risky but only for those of us that actually do have a choice. On behalf of all those you will give a working device to, thanks alot mate

Can't shrink it (properly?), so you have to flash six sparse files in a row.

Re: Sailfish OS flashing files

Hello,
First apologies for me being dumb. I've broke my JP1 doing factory reset via recovery menu. Device seems to be booting, but displays gargbage (like static noise).
I hope device can be recovered by flashing it with proper OS image.
I got the image archive but I'm a bit stuck. How exatcly I'm supposed to flash my JP1 with provided files. In the archive there are files:

Code:

boot.img
emmc_appsboot.mbn
hw-release
os-release
persist.img
recovery.img
rpm.mbn
sailfish.img001
sailfish.img002
sailfish.img003
sailfish.img004
sailfish.img005
sailfish.img006
sailfish.img007
sailfish-release
sbj-btrfs.xml
sbl1.mbn
sbl2.mbn
sbl3.mbn
tz.mbn

mbn/img files seems to be replacement to those in /boot.
Should I use flasher available via shell (recovery menu opt 4)? If so then how as it complains about not being run on the device.
In theory I could overwrite files in /boot and do factory reset once more.
But then how can I reflash main OS partition?
Or there's a way to flash it from computer with fastboot tools?

boot to recovery and run in shell:
Code:

/sbin/e2fsck -f -y /dev/mmcblk0p28
/sbin/resize2fs -f /dev/mmcblk0p28

then you can boot to sailfish normally.

after sailfishos upgrade you need to wait for patched boot for new sfos version

Re: Sailfish OS flashing files

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to salvage a Jolla 1 for a friend. It just stopped working some day. Factory reset and every magical thing you can (or cannot) do with btrfs failed. So I found these images. (A big thank you all!) I unlocked the boot loader and flashing boot, aboot and recovery worked fine. Flashing the first sailfish image fails with a write failure:

Code:

fastboot flash sailfish l:\SailfishOS-sbj-btrfs-3.1.0.11-sbj-1.0.2.13\sailfish.img001
target reported max download size of 721420288 bytes
sending 'sailfish' (524288 KB)...
OKAY [ 32.813s]
writing 'sailfish'...
FAILED (remote: flash write failure)
finished. total time: 125.683s

A second attempt shows access denied:
Code:

fastboot flash sailfish l:\SailfishOS-sbj-btrfs-3.1.0.11-sbj-1.0.2.13\sailfish.img001
target reported max download size of 721420288 bytes
sending 'sailfish' (524288 KB)...
OKAY [ 32.945s]
writing 'sailfish'...
FAILED (remote: access denied. need privilege!)
finished. total time: 32.974s

Any further attempts to flash to sailfish fail with access denied.

I tried pulling battery etc. but it's always like this. MD5 checksums are fine.

I'm on windows 10 using "minimal adb and fastboot", fastboot version 0.0.1-4500957.

Now that's the point where I'm stuck. Has anyone any idea? Is the phone bricked for good because of broken emmc? Any ideas how to find out?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance and best wishes,
Yo

Hey, badly I have forgotten my lock code. And the bootloader is locked. So is there no other possibility to reflash SailfishOS to my Jolla phone 1? Should I send it in? And if yes, why the repair store can reflash it and we can't? Thank's in advance
