MyDocs as NTFS

Hi there!
I want to have MyDocs as NTFS. I'm facing big problems with FAT32 - easily to damage, big limitations.
Is it possible to format it to NTFS? I have Kernel Power v53, does it support NTFS? Will mounting work normally?
Please, help, I will be thankful :D

Or, it possible to format it to ext3/ext4?

I don't know the details, but NTFS on such an old Linux system, cannot be a good idea.

Even on modern systems, the rule is: if you can avoid it, don't use it.

If you have problems with FAT32 then you should fix those, because it is not "easily to damage", and afaik it has only 1 limitation: max 4GB filesize.

Generally speaking I don't see why ext3 shouldn't be possible (not so sure about ext4 because of the age of the N900 kernel).

FWIW, the only time I had a corrupt FAT was on the SD card. Never in MyDocs.

The only two limitations I am aware of are:
  • 4GB file size limit
  • File modification time stamps have a 2 second granularity

It is absolutely possible. My N900 had encrypted /home (also uSD) and an ext3 MyDocs for years.
IIRC, there is a limitation why you cannot get rid of MyDocs. It is hardcoded into the camera to save pictures there...or something like this...
