Nokia N900
I have my Nokia N900 along with many other Nokia phones. I would like to have my N900 updated to Android but not sure I can do it. Is there anyone here who would do it for a slight fee. I would rather someone do it then me brick it up.
Thanks, Bob |

I am not sure if there ever was a version of nitdroid for it, at least I never have seen one but that might be worth a try. |
Re: Nokia N900
I dragged it back out and dusted it off. A bit out of date now but I love the keyboard. I still like a keyboard and not a virtual one. My problem was finding apps that were familiar to me. It would be nice to have an idea of what are good apps for email, maybe Opera for browser, didn't find much for book reading, and just normal apps like that. Maybe a map for GPS. Just general stuff.
Thanks, Bob |

Don't know what your comment is if you have one.

Re: Nokia N900
This phone with maemo linux os is like a safe place for those not wanting to use closed source os versions from Apple or Microsoft or from any other as well as not wanting to use Android. This is why it seems weird wanting to change this device to something which would take one of the most precious characters of this device.
But I understand you as well. A nice device with a keyboard and if you have no problems using Android your question is understandable. There has just came out the F(x)tec Pro1 phone. Check it out . I believe it would be perfect for you. I has keyboard and android. In this forum people as a first thing try to change with that device the os to something else than android. But for you it would be perfect with android. |

Thank you so much. I just looked it up and it looks great. I will consider it.

Yes, last Nitdroid for N900 was 2.3.6. |

2.3.6 is Gingerbread, and it is actually quite recent, from 2010. I never used that but Jellybean 4.1.2 on N9 was fairly good. so, @rootytooty I asuggest you first try Nitdroid, to get a feeling on what android on N900 could feel like. |
