There are numerous mentions of device name l500d.

Could this be an unreleased device? When googling it I only find lowend Toshiba laptops.

Makes sense, considering the numerous reported issues with those devices :)

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

What are the implications of the PackageKit upgrade? Is Warehouse no longer working after the new update?

I'm referring to this excerpt from the community metting this month.

Quote:

http://merproject.org/meetings/mer-m...13.30.log.html

14:36:49 <sledges> #info PSA: the next upgrade will remove harbour-warehouse and harbour-storeman, and we're calling community's help to get involved and upgrade the package-kit api that the next upgrade will change
14:37:06 <sledges> we tried to reach out to the author of warehouse, but it bore no fruit sadly
14:37:28 <Mister_Magister> sledges: better author of storeman
14:37:58 <M4rtinK> so what's the plan foreward for OpenRepos ?
14:38:19 <sledges> Mister_Magister: anything goes at this point
14:38:34 <Mister_Magister> sledges: what?
14:38:49 <sledges> M4rtinK: warehouse and/or storeman need to update the way they talk to packagekit in its new API
14:38:50 <M4rtinK> it's the main source of applications for a lot (majoriy ?) of Sailfish OS users due to Harbour limitations
14:39:16 <tadzik> the harbour store is also not available on community ports, or is it?
14:39:21 <Mister_Magister> yeah like i never go into harbour
14:39:22 <sledges> M4rtinK: can still download rpm through browser from openrepos
14:39:22 <Sfiet_Konstantin> mer contrib is a set of repo in which any community member can submit PRs before inclusion in Mer
14:39:23 <tadzik> maybe it is, nevermind
14:39:26 <Mister_Magister> always into openrepos
14:39:29 <sledges> tadzik: it is
14:39:41 <Mister_Magister> tadzik: ofcourse it is
14:39:53 <Mister_Magister> maybe you were using some *weak* port
14:40:15 <M4rtinK> so many ports will loose *all* user friendly application access ? that sounds pretty catastrophic
14:40:17 <tadzik> yeah, not sure where I got that idea now that I think of it :)
14:40:27 <Mister_Magister> sledges: you still can add repo manually :P
14:41:03 <Mister_Magister> M4rtinK: openrepos are main source of applications thats true
14:43:20 <sledges> let's discuss warehouse/storeman elsewhere, and we'll communicate properly, also in next meeting

I got one. Trying to help the refund. But looking for a reason to update or use it.

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Just updated my Xperia X (official) with this. jolla-camera autofocus now works reliably, and I can set ISO to 800. HUGELY improved.

Edit: However, lipstick seems to have had some regressions introduced. It now lags noticeably. I also have some increased battery drain over 2.1.3.7 with regard to bluetooth devices (specifically, rockpool with original Pebble Steel). I will investigate further and report back.

@deprecated: Can you check warehouse functionality, that would be a no go for any updates, if it doesn't work, at least for me.

Unfortunately I can't get warehouse to install, performing the update removed/obsoleted it, which means this release is also a no go for me... until it's fixed:

Code:

[nemo@Sailfish Downloads]$ devel-su
Password:
[root@Sailfish Downloads]# pkcon install-local harbour-warehouse-0.3-30.armv7hl.rpm
Installing files
Testing changes
Finished
Fatal error: installed store-client-0.12.8-10.7.1.jolla.armv7hl obsoletes harbour-warehouse <= 0.3 provided by harbour-warehouse-0.3-30.armv7hl

Not much time here to test but warehouse seems to be broken...
On the bright side WLAN hotspot works now...

Confirmed this behavior as well. Looks like Jolla is paying attention to community requests after all.

I know it's EA and all, but it sucks that these fixes come at the expense of warehouse (so far) and some obvious UX lags, as well as battery drain. We'll get it all figured out, naturally.

Same issue using the ones listed there:

There is an option to install it:

Code:

rpm -i package_name.rpm --nodeps

Never used warehouse myself, but using and adding merproject repos never fails :)
Warehouse have a history of other bad crap (I know, as my packages were blamed for some of them), it needs a good re-do honestly. And Custodian seems not so active unfortunately

I was following the official method. Doing rpm -i with --nodeps

Code:

[root@Sailfish Downloads]# rpm -i harbour-warehouse-0.3-30.armv7hl.rpm --nodeps
[root@Sailfish Downloads]# rpm -i harbour-storeman-0.0.15-2.armv7hl.rpm --nodeps

results in warehouse being installed, but it will not launch.

Yes, thats true, but talking about warehouse includes somehow storeman which isn't that bad. If latter gets fixed, all of us would be fine. Don't forget that some of our users are not familiar with command line tools.

He's talking about OpenRepos in general, since warehouse was the only client for such a long time people tend to use OpenRepos/Warehouse interchangably.

tbh if this pushes people towards build.merproject.org then that is a good thing

Storeman works, installing some stuff works as expected, but I'm getting curl errors for many things (quickddit as example).

you still need to manually install mcetool and activate. But now it works without occasional freezing like before.
I had it disabled and found it more reliable now.

Code:

mcetool --set-doubletap-wakeup=proximity

I keep getting the annoying system update notification for 2.1.3.7 after updating to 2.1.4.12, and the whole system feels sluggish. I might try a fresh flash/reinstall 2.1.4.12.

I was one questioin away from asking you were exactly you have lags.
all is super nice on my side.
Only -> No changes in webview stuttering scroll though.

Maybe doing the update again is worth trying before reflash.

Also, I just noticed that all six CPU cores are enabled when reviewing AIDA64. They cycle up and down, all of them. Previously there were only four enabled.

Thanks @mosen, that gives me hope. I'm sure there's just something goofy on my end. I'll give it another go and/or reflash.

Also noticed all 6 cores are active when observing aida.
Thanks for confirmation, i thought i'd better hold that info back until someone more competent reports this as change as i had not actually observed aida on 2.1.3 to see 2 cores not running :D
