Size comparison photos, n800 and n810 included http://www.pocketables.net/2008/10/review-aigo-p88.html I've been looking at this mid for some time now. Looks to be a pretty powerful device although a bit larger than the n810 and n800. From what I've seen the Gigabyte brand m528 comes with a 3megapixel auto focus camera on the back and the Aigo brand does not. You can already order some versions of the Aigo mids and they are going for $600-700 so its quite a bit more expensive than the NITS. |

Yes these devices are shaping up, just a lot slower than we would have expected.
CES in January looks like being of interest as a potential showcase for what we might expect to see next year. Have you seen this piece? http://www.jkontherun.com/2008/12/intel-is-bettin.html |

i might jump ship for this baby once price drops 200-300$. by then they should have all drivers for windows. then i can dual boot ubuntu mobile and XP!! bottom line i think it's more powerful but the n810 can do most of what the aigo can do, so why pay ~300 extra?

Edit: I just found another variation of this mid that came out in france and apparently costs 249 euros (with 3g contract I guess?) Here is a review video of it but its in french. This version has a D-pad type thing on the right side. If it was this price in the USA I would buy one instantly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hKgSrZO_DI |

OOPS! i meant when it drops 2-300 off the regular price. i do like how the n810 is pocketable, but i usually carry a small bag with all my gadgets. so for me, the Aigo would do wonderful.

Re: Aigo P8895 MID. with 3G. available late Dec.
I've been doing some research on this mid and found the graphics chip it uses.
Intel System Controller Hub -- SGX535(Intel GMA500) + VXD370 Apparently its a pretty powerful chip and pandora uses a similar one the SGX530. The MSI wind netbook uses the SGX535 and an atom processor running at 1.6ghz and according to some youtube videos I saw it can run Doom 3! Albeit at very low fps but that is pretty amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGbpavDTBqE and Unreal tournament which runs really well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8brgcmdsn0w Now this MID has an atom processor but only at 800mhz so it is half of the MSI wind. I think with proper drivers this device could be a pretty powerful handheld x86 game device. What do you guys think? |
