Mine only works for the initial contacts sync and then it will fail every time thereafter. However, if I disable the contacts sync and only sync the calendar it will succeed every time... I hope this...

Finally I received the external battery charger... and it worked! I was able to flash my N900 but I had to use my Windows XP netbook (win 7 64-bit didn't seem to want to detect the device).

I tried exactly this. It doesn't respond at all when holding the U key down. It will just shut off and restart again automatically. According to a few others on here I'll try charging the battery...

no... I don't have another way to charge the battery. The battery was originally fully charged before I tried to do the flash. Maybe it died during the process???

wow i should have known to try and press halfway for it to focus... After trying that a few times the photos are now about 100x better! this is good advice for anyone with the n900.

I have tried adjusting the resolution, it doesn't change the outcome. The two resolutions on the N900 are identical, except with the 3mp it crops the photo for a widescreen view, AFAIK.
