Tried the files provided by stdstrowes, but still the same situation...and when I try to start Yaspot from the terminal I get:
Failed to connect DBUS
bye bye!

I have tried VertSMS and it is a great idea, but the lack of a qwerty- keyboard makes it not so interesting for me...maybe somebody will...

I also do not need or wan't a global portait mode in N900. But Conversations and Media Player are some apps (+Browser) in which portrait mode would be quite useful sometimes... :)

1. Created the MMS APN
2. Created duplicate APN for my normal packet connection

I tried this approach, but no matter in what order I add the MMS APN and the new duplicate APN for the original packet connection, the other apps (browser, mail, etc) try to use the MMS APN. :(

Ok, thanks for the add info....btw, what is this N900 SWAP unit stuff? When I phoned Nokia's tech support they never mentioned about something like this....

Nokia's tech support didn't make me any wiser regarding this problem, so it's flashing time... :(
Let's just hope it fixes this because I don't feel like waiting another 3-4 weeks for a third...

Did you read my posts at all? ;) As I mentioned my SIM works fine in 2G mode with my N95 and E72.
So my N900 has atleast a software fault and probably a hardware one since it behaved like this...

Yes, I know that is the last option...just hoping I could avoid it since I already have the latest firmware and I don't like to spend half a weekend installing all the apps again. :)

I've tried rebooting and also I tried the 3g/2 applet with no luck. If I change the mode with the applet to 2G, nothing happens. Then if set the phone to offline mode and then back to normal, it goes...

The provider I'm using is Elisa Finland and my previous N900 worked ok in GSM mode. I also have a Nokia N95 and E72 which work just fine in GSM mode.
So I'm thinking it's something in the phone...
