The problem was probably wrong flash image. I have relatively old hardware and accidentally flashed an image that was for the latest HW only. Changing to another pr1.2 image (suitable for all HWs)...

In fact, lock file isn't very good: if the program is killed before it exits voluntarily, the lock file may not be deleted. That forbids the program to start any more!
