Re: what in-earphones do you use/recommend

I'm using Head Direct RE0.

They cost 80$, and they have, IMHO, the best sound you could get for their price range, and...

Re: Stupid girlfriend stepped over my N900.

This is exactly what craig's list is for.

For trade: Girlfriend. Condition: Used*, somewhat stupid, but fully operational. Plays video games!

Will trade for a back cover for Nokia N900.

Re: Eldar: Nokia and Microsoft Discussing WP7

Nokia isn't HTC.

HTC is a hardware company. They don't have any single software platform they want to promote. They do not care how many Android phones they sell - they only care about the total...

Re: Decibel Meter ?

Just downloaded the VU meter app.

Cool app. Really liked it!

Anyway, I'd like to suggest one relatively simple tweak to this app which could really improve its accuracy:
Currently, it seems...

Re: N900 successor ship date (N9 or whatever it will be called)

The question is: do they still intend to use Harmattan, or did the decision to postpone the N9 was in order to skip Harmattan and go straight to full Meego?

I see no point in releasing a Harmattan...

Re: N900 successor ship date (N9 or whatever it will be called)

I guess it would be around April 2011.

Meego 1.2 is scheduled to be released on April, so I believe the N9 is going to be released at about the same time.

Oh, and the source for that date:...

Re: n900 saves the day... or useless iPhones and Android phones

Yeh, tethering on wifi is definitely a cool feature that works quite nice on the N900.

I don't have any experience with Joiku, but about a week ago I installed the free mobile-hotspot app, and it...

Help with irrco/qtirreco for N900

I just updated my N900 to pr1.3 through the OVI suite, and as a result, had to reinstall all applications.

One app I couldn't reinstall is irreco, and it looks like it is no longer available in...

Re: PR 1.3 LITTLE changes with HUGE DISAPPOINT!!!

I agree. PR1.3 is a colossal disappointment for me as well.

1. The AI sucks big time. The phone is still unable to guess what I want without me telling him everything explicitly.
2. No ponies!!!...

Re: So what have I gotten myself into?

GPS locking is always fast in A-GPS mode, but it requires some data connection. It is slow only if you don't have any data connection available.

Re: So what have I gotten myself into?

You can do quite a lot without any USB cord, as long as you have Wifi. Most of the time, I am using SSH to move files between my computer and the phone wirelessly. And of course, installing apps is...

Re: Is it okay for a student with limited financial resources to pirate software?

A few comments:

First, one minor comment: I am under the impression you use IP and copyright interchangeably, while what only talk about copyright. Remember that IP is a wide umbrella term,...

Re: Is it okay for a student with limited financial resources to pirate software?

Not so sure about that. Does it really feel as if I have stolen something from them? If someone steals my CD, I can feel the CD missing from my bag. If I am a recording artist and somebody copied my...

Re: Is it okay for a student with limited financial resources to pirate software?

I am afraid I still do not understand what you mean by that. It is mere semantics from the standpoint of the content creator/owner in what sense? Do you mean they are similar because both acts are...

Re: Is it okay for a student with limited financial resources to pirate software?

Actually, there is a huge difference. It is much more than mere semantics. If someone stole something from you, it is a criminal offense. You can go to the police and file a complaint, and he will be...

Re: Is it okay for a student with limited financial resources to pirate software?

No. It isn't, Infringement of intellectual property is not defined as a "form of theft" according to the law of any country I know of. It is a form of theft just like slander is a form of rape. The...

Re: Nokia is the McDonalds of Phones

You don't read a lot of financial reports, do you?

First, the numbers you quote are not profit but net income. Their gross profit was actually down from 25B in 2007 to 19B in 2009. After you take...

I'm not so certain about that. This is one possible scenario, but not the only one (or even the most probable one) .

Currently, Nokia's options are:

Keep going with Meego
Moving to Android...

Re: will the WeTab due next month be based on meego?

Nice!

Thinking about it, it does make a lot of sense to use Meego for tablets.

After all, Meego is simply Linux with a touch-friendly WM and tools, and it is one of the best options I can think...

Probably yes, but I would also consider to option to wait for the N9.

I wouldn't buy any other phone which is on the market today.
