Try one of the following commands instead:

flasher -F firmwareImageFile.bin -F emmcImageFile.bin -f

OR

flasher -F emmcImageFile.bin -a firmwareImageFile.bin -f

yes, I have tried redownloading and flashing it several times. I have even tried the 009 variant of germany and norway as well. I guess this is the latest firmware and hence now i cant move forward...

Will do it right away and post the output. I assume rootfs to be the mainFirmwareFile.bin. I will rename it to rootfs and try as you said.
