If you are using it as a day-to-day companion, and use calendaring at all, install
Qalendar
forthwith and use it instead of stock. It uses the same backend calendar system, but exposes so much more functionality. Also, if widgets are your thing, the Calendar Home widget displays a halfway decent amount of information.
