In general I do not like modern smartphones (software/hardware) for known reasons. Personally I do appreciate that a company came as far as purism with the librem5 that I actually would like to use as a daily driver. There are not many other phones with those features like hardware switches, linux support, FOSS focus, etc. I suppose they do the best they can but it's just not an easy task to engineer a phone with those specifications. Don't see the point in bashing a FOSS focused company. For me it's worth the wait anyhow (just think of the Ubuntu Touch project, which just never happened, Canonical even gave up the development of the OS).
