How can you not know why? MicroB had flash, copy/paste, full version websites (at least you could CHOOSE useragent), a mousemarker for hovering menus... it was amazing.

The n9 browser is a shoddy little worm compared to it. But most mobile browsers are, compared to microB.

That being said... Having all this on a device with no HWKB wouldnt be as great. Youd lack ctrl-c/v/etc commands, youd still have a VKB dicking things up for you when youre writing things (forumposts, comments, what have you)...

how about the widgets ? maybe the multipl desktops? or the way different IM agents integrated into the system? or maybe the lack of agies .

ok... back to the original question, how easy is it to port maemo5 to N9 ?

Haha I was pretty much joking, and Im not gonna start explaining why I dislike the widget concept, how I find the IM integration to be pretty nice on the N9, or how much I agree on the aegis thing.

Would be cool to actually be ABLE to run maemo5 though, I totally agree there .

After 2 weeks, I'm starting to forget about widgets and the multi-desktops... My "widgets" are just running as background apps, and communication is well done in the Event screen.
The different IM integration will come with time just like they did with the N900.

But the lack of Big Brother/Aegis... now that is something I'm dying to see die, lol. But again, I won't need maemo for it, I trust the good people over at MeeGo Forum

Maybe because it's been discussed countless times & a search would've revealed that?

^ Very insightful read, also read everything that's linked-to from there.

Ditto on prior posts, AEGIS is far from a lost cause.
Progress is being made, although lately it has slowed to a crawl.
One step back, two steps forward kinda thing...

Probably best to continue the discussion there if you've further things to say/ask.
