I am Learning how to program for both the iPhone and Maemo but i am not finding it as easy on Maemo as it is on the iPhone. If Nokia wants to get more new developers for Maemo it needs to makes things more easy.

How about having a Maemo Dev Center, where any and everything to get you started programming for Maemo on any OS will be.

Example:

SDK
Extra tools or plugins
Documentation
Video tutorial (Very very important)
List of books to get started
Example of simple source code of very very basic apps to give developers and idea of the look and feel.

i find that everything is sooo fragmented since i began learning to code for Maemo and as of today am still strugling to get everything set and ready on my mac.

when i started learning to code for the iPhone, i was ready to go within 2 hours because the of the ease provided by Apple for via the iPhone Dev Center.

exactly my point.. why are they both not in one place...

Give new developers a one stop shop. OSX Mobile did it, Android has done it, yet when it comes to Maemo and Symbian i have to travel the globe to gather the necessery tools.

Put everything in one place and give me a step by step guid (not just for Windows) on how to get everything set up on my mac and let my talent do the rest.

You should be able to find everything through the Forum Nokia site; however since you're on maemo.org, I thought I'd share the community's entry point since that might be easier.

The developer experience for Maemo isn't as good as the other next-gen mobile platforms. Yet. Things like Qt Creator, MADDE and Forum Nokia getting involved show a promising future, though :-)

Probally because Nokia got two smartphone operating systems and it makes sense to have dev area in Maemo.org as it's the Maemo place, but then of course Nokia forum needs to have it with Symbian.

Like Jaffa said Nokia Forum should have it all.
