In the System Control Panel, under the Remote tab, click the "Select Remote Users..." button and make sure that you gave the user permission to login remotely.

Progress!!

Er, I had terminal services turned off. I ran it this time and the screen Flashed! *excitement*

But no rdesktop still. It's not even giving an error this time.

I'm fairly certain you need to add even administrators to the list of allowed remote desktop users. Try that. At least we're getting somewhere

I updated the cli and added the account to the list, nothing.
