It is useful to trick yourself into thinking all your favourite sites are going to work.

Does anyone mind trying Amazon's VOD site to see if this would make it possible to place an order? I have no desire to watch the video on my N80, but if I could start an order from work and have it download to the TiVo that would be pretty rad.

From what I can tell, a hacked Flash plug-in will get you closer to your goal, but won't let you accomplish what you want.

Amazon will show the VOD purchase screen, and I "bought" some sort of free "cast talks" video from the page to which you linked. However, the large Flash area near the top of the page--a section I take to be the actual player for the video--never progresses beyond showing "Loading" and some animated dots.

I've no prior experience with Amazon's VOD service, but from what I can tell, the "Download" button you want is part of that player that never loads. Therefore, you won't be able to get the videos you purchase with a hacked Flash plug-in.

Yep, after placing an order, the top section is supposed to load a screen that gives you either the option to start playing or download to a destination. I was hoping that it was only the "Start playing" that would require the latest flash.

I appreciate you checking though. They used to do this all in HTML, and it was a snap to setup an order from the N800, but when they launched the ability to stream in addition to downloading they changed the order process.

Go there on your device PC or whatever that works, read the version and try use the version that works for you. But if any service using something that Flash 9 on your N900 doesn't support there is no way to get this content working. I can give you many examples of that.

Try to go to http://wonderfl.net/ flash 10.0 required not even 10.1, doesn't work on N900 at all.

Everyone with PR1.3: enable extras-testing repository and download youself tweakflash app 0.4.0 (http://maemo.org/packages/package_in.../0.4.0-maemo1/)

I've tried it myself on PR1.3: after setting flash version to LNX 10,0,45,0 (recommended) the videos on facebook magically started to work! Thanks a lot to the developer of this app.
