This maybe my own fault for syncing my phone with nokias Ovi Suite, but after doing so tonight i cannot now save, move or delete files in my main storage (mmc still accessible) the only thing I can do is open them.

Any Ideas?

Rootfs shows 54MB free so no problem there hopefully.

when downloading file with microB am getting message "not allowed"

can still move add and delete files when connected in mass storage mode through "my computer" on the lappy.

Update - now getting message when trying to delete a file "unable to continue read-only folder [foldername]" this is happening in all N900 folders. MMC is unaffected.

Don't really want to format and lose everything in there, have lots of stuff not stored elsewhere (I know very bad).

Any Ideas

If you can SSH into the phone from another box (linux the best), try checking the rootfs using fsck.ext3.

An easier way: connect via USB to a linux box, run GParted (gui of parted),
umount the NAND partition, then use the disk checking function.

on x-term do the following:
umount /dev/mmcblk0p1

run the following a few times till you dont see any errors being reported.
fsck.vfat -a /dev/mmcblk0p1

and then
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1

dont think you would have needed to flash. a disk check as mentioned above should have resolved the issues...

This happened to me last night, All i did was shutdown the device remove the battery, insert the battery and turn it back on. Everything worked after that.
