Got a problem with the email client's message count. Even with all the messages deleted from the inbox and trash it still shows 27 messages. When new messages come it the count increments from 27. This occurs even across reboots.

Anybody know where the email client stores its initial value for the number of messages?

This doesn't break anything but it's kind of annoying.

I've had this happen to me too. All messages in inbox are read (or inbox empty) and I'd still have an unread message in folder view. Now I've got 2: I recently undeleted a trashed message, and wonder if that's what did it.

Refreshing email doesn't fix it. Emptying trash doesn't. I assume deleting and recreating the account would fix it, but I'm looking for a less destructive fix for what's really an annoyance, not a catastrophe.

It's always done that. It seems unlikely we're going to see a fix at this point.

Deleting and re-creating the account fixes the counter.

Until the next time it goes wrong which in my experience is the very next time you delete something or resync.
