I am from Hong Kong.

I try the Ovi map, the map data seems to be moved away to the GPS location for 500m.

I can confirm the GPS signal is correct with GPXview. And I see the GPS location move in the right direction in ovi map. But the whole map moved away 500m

Any way to correct this error?

Thank you.

I live in Hong Kong. I have exactly the same problem. so it seems to be the problem of mapping software. I didn't pre-load the maps and just let the ovi software to download them on the fly.

Anyone experiences the same problem? BTW, I am using a US version N900.

Also in HK with US N900. Same problem here. PR1.1 appears to have fixed most problems with GPS lock but map is off by what appears to be a constant amount. Sometimes it will be correct for a few seconds and them jump back. All other mapping apps track accurately.

Are you downloading maps on the fly or did you pre-load them ?
If you pre-loaded them did you use Map Loader or install them
manually ?

Oops never mind. I see from your other message you did not pre-load. Makes no difference for me either way. Both are way off.

Anyone else from any location having problems with offset locations ?
We may have a bug here.

Also in HK with US N900 with same problem. Preloaded maps (twice) and still wrong. Also, satellite mode (google earth type view) and street mode don't match each other.

To summarize
- Street view the location is off, to the NW of actual
- Satellite view the location is off, almost due W.

Since mkleung found google maps with geolocation there must be some errors in the map sync to the supplied data from the gps module.

9203 Inaccurate GPS position was shown on map in China..
