Hello all, I am a new user to this site. I cannot download anything on my n900 as all my catalogues have a red exclamation mark and read "failed to refresh". any help would be appreciated

Hi, what are "all catalogues"? What kind of connection? Does this happen both with WiFi and a mobile connection? Does this also happen if you try a second WiFi?

.the internet connection is fine (wifi or t moblie web)
what happens is I go to my app manager (nokia n900 btw) and go into the menu at the top, when i select catalogues the phone searches for a bit and then lists all the catalogues as -failed to refresh_ with red hexagons(with white exclamation marks in) next to each catalogue.
eg; nokia applications, nokia system software updates, ovi, maemo.org

because of this I cannot download anything.

my extra devel nd extra testing repo not working help me too.. consd.. no wi fi only mobile connection ie gprs

Anyone know how to fix this? All of my repositories are showing the same symptom with an exclamation mark inside a red stop sign.

Nokia Applications - failed to refresh
Nokia System Software Updates - failed to refresh
Ovi - failed to refresh
maemo.org - failed to refresh
Maemo Extras - failed to refresh
etc
etc.

My wifi and internet are working fine. I can browse to all of those repositories on my browser.

Help please...

ok I fixed my problem by doing what was suggested in this thread.

"First try to disable the extra testing and extra devil repositories"

I disabled those two repositories and a Mozilla multi beta Catalog one and repositories are now updating.

Yeah , im having a same problem . I juz disable nokia application repository and nokia system software updates repository. I work fine now ..and can update...
