X86 is not just X86, there are different extended instruction sets on different CPUs (Intel has some new instructions, AMD has others). And the PCs are so versatile that there are countless differences in which hardware they use (different south bridges, different north bridges, different RAM, video cards, buss interfaces, etc.)

Woot only 3 more day till the Microsoft build when we see the final results of their efforts also it seems like the next version of Windows will be Virtualization heavy
