Jay seems to think its single led is much brighter (at least anecdotally he feels that) so it may have an advantage in low light.
But what else about it specs lead you to believe it should have always been better?
Not referring specifically to camera specs, but the entire device on a whole. Whether it be camera, battery or whatever, shouldn't matter really.

below the elites? the only elite is the n8.
I certainly expect the camera to be much better than most current android phones. And I guess it is, maybe they have not figured out the software part yet.
not too sure about that, i may be wrong...but isn't photo quality related to the size of the sensor and the quality of the flash? n9 is like borderline top with others.

The n8 is a special beast because of it's ability to grab as much light as possible even on low light, so nothing compares to that....I'm sure that the n9's isn't nowhere near that capable. It is however good enough. When you compare it side by side with the other big boys, it makes it look worse than it really is though

Well you said:

Why are people shocked about the camera?
The n9's hardware was below the elites from its announcement

Precisely & which of the SGSII's specs make it better than the N9?
AFAIK there's nothing hw-wise which would explain why it performs much better.
Jay seems certain he is configuring both fairly/evenly...
So maybe the software's not actually doing what he's telling it to do?

I tweeted Damien Dining (Nokia's imaging guru) for a "please explain".
Particularly since 20hrs ago he made this bold claim:
Why is the #N9's new camera the most advanced 8mp camera in a smartphone?
All the facts are here: http://bit.ly/mjQKY9
I also pointed him to jakiman's comparison...

Nooo way, Iphone 4S will be at that price, at least also 20% higher than the 64GB N9

There are quite a few online retailers in Australia that ship internationally - and will charge you 10% less than the quoted price as they do not need to charge GST(VAT) on the sale.

Try www.mrmobile.com.au, www.mobicity.com.au, www.smoothmobiles.com.au

Most of the networks and larger bricks-and-morter retailers in Australia don't ship internationally, but no need to go through any dodgy third parties and take risks to get one. The websites above are all well known and been around for a while.

Btw, which country are you from?
Wouldnt it be far away to send over? Another concern is the customs or taxes or whatever that needs to be paid
Most importantly, how about the warranty, I think the warranty is void outside Malaysia, problematic for you.

How much are the online stores quoting?

Looks like jakiman's already tweeted Damien 1hr beforehand & Damien's responded.

Is anything delivered in full for the Nokia N9? No flasher yet, no Swype keyboard, not even stock seems to be coming out in sizeable measures.

Nokia has not learned a thing from the N900 launch. Have that **** in place before you launch.
