Oh ok.
But problem is i can't acces extras-devel from N900 anymore.

Catalogs fail to resolve.

Should it be installed on the N900,would that help?

If so i may try to install it from laptop if possible.

iwconfig will just give some more details about wireless connection, but not a must.

Did you try to reboot: shutdown and start up?
Its a Linux system and should not happen, but I have also run into similar kind of problem and a reboot helped out.

Anyone else with ideas?

This problem pretty much renders my N900 useless.

Repositories are here to download via e.g. laptop:
http://repository.maemo.org/

iwconfig is here:
http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p...tle/free/i/iw/
See also:
http://maemo.org/packages/package_in....9.19-1maemo4/

I did not test it.
I assume that you know how to transfer a *.deb to your N900
and how to install it there.

OK when i install IW on n900 it now says app not compatible.

I'm at the end of my rope here.(talking bout the big issue, not the Iw thing as peter said that wouldn't solve anything)

Others who might have a clue what's going on?

Thanks all for the advice so far.

Hey peter.

I think it is getting hopeless.
It says traceroute: not found.

You think i must flash the device tomorow?

Thank you so much for your time and effort thou.

Goodnight.

What about your router being the bad guy? Did you restart it?

About installing wireless-tools package: how did you try? With File Manager? You have to open a x-term, get root and type
dpkg -i packagename
where packagename should be replaced by the exact path and filename (e.g. /home/user/MyDocs/wireless-tools.deb).
