can it run ips files.. i hope it can.. if not it might be good for a future update =)

correct. IPS files arent only for ROMs, they are for a lot of things. You need the original ROM though, and I can't tell you how to get that. To patch a rom, google LunarIPS, download it, and follow the instructions in the TXT file. Then start VGBA with the patched ROM
