Rang the store up yesterday afternoon to check that my N900 was still available and waiting for me. Eventually had my call answered and yes I appeared to be a lucky chap.

I asked if I could be given a manager's discretionary discount for all the delays. This they would not do but included a pair of their stylish bluetooth headphones, model BH-504 (I already have the BH-905 ones from play.com and they have awesome sound quality with my Cowon S9 audio player). Quite a good deal.

I received the phone and headset in a nice green bag which even had my name printed on paper and stapled to the bag!

The store assistant congratulated me on my luck in receiving the N900 as, she said, they had completely sold out - no more were left in stock.

P.S. sad to hear that this store may be closing...

*** NEWSFLASH ***

P.S. A recent Google search is showing the N900 as being available at £449 but the website still shows the price as £499. Does this suggest a big discount is imminent?

Just out of curiosity to those who got their N900s, how long did you leave it charging the first time?

Did you leave it to charge fully or turn it on and use before fully charged?

I used mine for a few hours before charging it at all; as the getting started guide in the box specifically points out the battery comes supplied partially charged, so you should just be good to go out-of-the-box.

My battery was half charged so I played / tested for about 40 mins, then put it on to charge.

Just noticed...
http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/pro..._buynow_buynow

preorder is gone, it's now a normal "Add to cart "

this should mean no worries about stock ??
