Go to the folder containing the files you want to delete.

Tap on "File Manager" in the status bar.
Tap on "Delete"
Select files you want to delete
Press "Delete"

got it, but is there any reason delete menu isn't available for memory card files?

It is. Hold the pen pressed over a file (don't move it), Delete will be in the pop-up menu.

Did you do stuff to the card while in PC? Maybe the files are marked.

You can do it on memory card (I'm trying it out while I'm typing this)

Wait, he's right, hold menu on memory card is missing "Delete" and "Move" items.

Bug, apparently.

I stumbled on this one last night. The solution for me was just to fire up the x-term and do an rm -rf /media/mmc1/<filename>

I wonder if there's an XML file somewhere with the option commented out or simply forgotten...
