I'd put the E7 in my pocket and dump the WP7 in the nearest bin.

But I reckon if they've got WP7 phones to give out already, this merger must have been in the pipeline for quite some time, before it was actually announced.

If it's a Nokia WP7 phone, that makes Elop look a complete liar for saying that the decision had not been made until the Thursday before MWC.

They've actually said that they will get a E7 now, and a WP7 device when they are ready.

At the announcement Elop and Balmer said there engineers had been talking since November. Elop had decided all Nokia operating systems were dead way before arriving.

Looking at 2010 market share who can blame him. Remember, Elop would have been told the CEO job at Nokia was his months before he actually started and would have been given access to the company stats and figures.

He would have known months before starting that Nokia would need to do something radical to fight back.

The guy needed to do something. If he'd sat around waiting for Meego (or a massive improvement in symbian) he'd already be out of a job.

Maemo/Meego: compatible with Qt
Symbian : compatible with Qt

After Symbian and Maemo refresh kick out android...
