All this info is available in the forums, but I haven't seen where someone put it all together.
I have been using a data-only plan on my N900 and SIP calling. When I am home, I use wifi only. The N900 updates the clock on the cell network, but not when connected to wifi. I also use my N900 as my alarm clock.
So daylight savings time came, my N900 was on wifi, the clock didn't update, and I over slept.
I installed openntpd and alarmed from the repos. I made a new event in alarmed to execute the command "sudo ntpd" and scheduled it to run every day at 4am (when I will be home and on wifi and after the daylight savings at 2am).

And it works!
