Fair enough, since those who are determined enough to try can simply change the user agent

I think that (and I've seen even worse actually) says it all about the state of web "standards" and mentality of browser vendors. I really feel sorry for the poor souls who have to try to infer browser capabilities from a string like that.

Sadly the browser war between MS and Netscape muddied the water badly regarding those strings...

Hey Bund.

Any chance you could help me inject this file into Tear as a Bookmark?

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=10

It's too big for Tear to handle from the browser side.

Currently, if there's a YouTube video from a website, I click on it in Tear, stop the page, highlight and copy the link, close the page, open up Microb, paste the link, stop the page, then finally go to the bookmark that I set to download the video with that script thingy link posted above.

Please tell me there's something easier than this each and every time someone posts a video on a forum that I would like to watch.

No need for different HTML, graceful degradation will do Though CSS3 features are easily detectable on the client side which can we can use for progressive enhancement instead. Careful site programming can avoid UA detection and produce good results. However you are right - there is more work involved.

Let me check. Seems it doesn't work directly or as a bookmarklet...

EDIT: I'm afraid its not going to work the way it is now.

Another EDIT: I've slightly modified the script to make it work. Save the link on this page as a bookmarklet and try with it:

Thanks Bund, I actually was able to get that to work.

Cool beans!

However, after I closed Tear, I now get this screen as a default from now on.

Strange, doesn't happen here. What can you see after scrolling down?

I don't have any errors when I start tear.

But does the bookmarlet actually work? Nothing happens when I tap it in the menu on a youtube page.
