"Internal Error. Application 'Pidgin Internet Messenger' Closed"

I uninstalled Pidgin and then re-installed it and it is still a no go. Does anyone know how I can fix this? OR, does anyone know where I can get v.2.3.1?

Thanks!
Hi whayong

I am facing the same pidgin 'Internal Error Application Closed' problem in my n810. Did you get through this?

Thanks in advance

Easiest fix is probably to convince somebody to port Pidgin 2.5.8 for 770. Pidgin 2.3.1 won't work anyway with Yahoo and ICQ because these companies change their protocols every few months.

It's some strange Pidgin fault.

Have you tried the recompiled version from http://www.solodovnikov.ru/pidgin_ma...cription.shtml ?

Works for me (os2007) but it might work on os2008 as well.

By the way, my problem was solved by re-installing pidgin 2.1 instead of 2.3

I'm not quite sure, but it should be:

libpurple0_2.5.1-0nix2_armel.deb
pidgin_2.5.1-0nix2_armel.deb
pidgin-l10n_2.5.1-0nix2_all.deb

You have to install it in a "red pill mode".

I tried, (in red pill mode).

pidgin-l10n.... <- possible to install
pidgin_2.5.1... <- unpossible, needs libpurple >= 2.5.0
libpurple0..... <- not possible
