everything depends on the car, as its been mentioned infra red locking on older models were so basic it'd be easily doable. new models use rf and encryption precisely to stop this sort of thing. if you're willing to pay to have the hardware mods done to your car you can basically pick how you want it to communicate with your n900 (i'd pick something that would work on different phones too for resale value and when you replace your n900 - ergo avoid ir and rf!)

with a gsm module http://www.telit.com/en/products/gsm...p_ac=show&p=11 running python script inside !!! you can do anything from sms .
the module have gpio lines and can be programmed to switch car locking system
a jumping code hard breaking algorithm can be made and put on both : telit module and n900.

warning !
additional cost may be applied. kilo free sms sim recommended.
outside gsm coverage regular key must be used.



i don' t need this because my car have rf perimeter key
