EDIT: I swear I had working links to the last two streams, but they weren't working in my post here. I'll recheck them.

go to this http://www.listenlive.eu/ I can get a ton of stations to listen to from different countries. Windows media won't be recognized but other formats bring up the media player. I have 20 or more classical music stations from 3 european countries so far.

we're working on a similar problem with sirius satellite radio streams in another thread. Sirius uses an authentication process to generate a unique "token" that is embedded in the url. But it is an asx stream so perhaps this will work...i'll give it a shot.

Kgw:
What stream particularly?

For example, CBC Radio One Montreal is
mms://a888.l961736887.c9617.g.lm.aka...eflector:36887

I think all of them should work, just tell what local stream you want to listen.

Unfortunately, due to the authentication process, the sirius ASX file contains no MMS address. It uses the http protocol to stream an ASF file. ASF is a "container" that uses the WMA codec, and has been supported in Maemo since 3.x. So yes, it should work.

Since the URL for each channel changes with each user's browser session, there is no way to create a player application UNLESS we find a media player that can handle ASX directly.

I am going to continue to work on it but I think it is semi-unrelated to this thread, so for those interested I'll post my progress here:

Thanks!
