Yes, nothing changed. I've been busy the past 2/3 weeks and it will probably the same for next couple of months.
A company offered me a project for the iphone so I'll sailor on that boat till summer then I will probably have more spare time to dedicate to the tablet (I found this customer using the projects I have here as a portfolio). It is a real shame that Nokia don't use more the Maemo comunity to recruit developers or at least give them a privileged path to job opportunities. The tablet niche seem to me like the most technical hardcore developers sector inside Nokia; keeping them in the basement and let the marketing people rules seem like a really bad idea.

ok, I had a bit of time to dedicate to this lost sheep.
Some info:
I switched from the python+pygame to the c+SDL.
I realised that pygame is a pretty straighforward SDL bind for python so everything is conceptually the same but without the heavy python layer.
Im compiling everything on the tablet so I dont use any SDK/IDE and let me write code whereever I am.
Im a complete C noob so this could be a nice project to follow for whoever want begin to program the tablet (or any other c/sdl platform).
Im testing all the pieces Ill need for what I have in mind:
libsdl_image for the png/trasparencies support
libsdl-ttf for the ttf cont support
libsdl_mixer for the sound part
libsmpeg for the mp3 (ogg?) support
from first testing everything seem in place:
Ill see if Ill be able to cleanup a bit the code and post something usable somewhere before the middle of august
