I read allot about this topic about tap a phone even when its off.

My question is, is it possible that for example the FBI can activate the mic in my n900 and listen to conversations even when the phone is off?

Some people say it can other say it cant.

Strange fact is still that my n900 can wake it self even when off, batterygraph shows CPU activity even when n900 is off and all that sort of things.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to externally activate the n900 through a signal? can this be tested? is there some one who can measure radiation to test if the n900 sends signals even when off?

you could bring a magnet to the screen, and voilaa!! the N900 wakes up..lol

unless the "FBI" put a bug in your phone, then yes..or unless they hacked your phone, and install "keylogger", then yes..

erm, what do you mean by this?

listen to conversations even when the phone is off?
how would you establish a conversation/phone call when the phone is actually turned off?or do u actually mean "in standby mode"??

To tap a call the battery will have to be used to power the transmission. Ever wondered why your batter is so much lower the next time you turn on your phone? :P
