Hi,

It worked the first couple times but has stopped doing so lately. I have been installing and removing many applications so something may have affected it. I also removed and re-installed Qik itself 2 times without any difference.

Basically I start up Qik with the lens cover closed. It connects and logs into my account, then says "Open lens cover". I do so and the Camera app runs, switching back and forth between Camera and Qik 3-4 times before settling into Qik, but there the camera input doesn't show. It does show in the Camera app if I switch to it but nothing in Qik. If I close the Camera app I still get nothing in Qik. Trying to actually record something using the big green button doesn't show the camera view either.

Anyone got any idea as to why this is happening?

Thanks in advance

Update to this:

I looked at the logs in /home/user/.qik/logs and found this being logged while trying with qik again today:

12:40:22.362 [40019240] LibPlaybackEngine> Got state reply. Granted state 'None'
12:40:22.362 [40019240] LibPlaybackEngine> state change failed: state request change denied by policy

I don't know if it's relevant but it's the only "fail" in the logs.

This started happening after PR1.1. It seems like the camera is interfering and not letting Qik get the feed when the cover is slided open?

As a followup to this:

I solved the issue thanks to help from Qik employee Vladimir Chernyshev, on http://getsatisfaction.com/qik/topic...a_feed_on_n900

Turns out some enviromental settings that Qik requires were missing, specifically instead of:

Nokia-N900-51-1:~# printenv | grep OSSO
OSSO_PRODUCT_REGION=Britain
OSSO_SWAP=/home/user/MyDocs
OSSO_VERSION=RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_MR0
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION=2.2009.51-1
OSSO_PRODUCT_FULL_NAME=Nokia N900
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_NAME=Maemo 5
OSSO_PRODUCT_SHORT_NAME=Nokia N900
OSSO_PRODUCT_HARDWARE=RX-51
OSSO_PRODUCT_KEYBOARD=English, Dutch
OSSO_PRODUCT_WLAN_CHANNEL=fcc/us
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_FULL_NAME=Maemo 5
OSSO_PRODUCT_NAME=N900

mine was showing

Nokia-N900-51-1:~# printenv | grep OSSO
OSSO_PRODUCT_REGION=<unknown>
OSSO_SWAP=/media/mmc1
OSSO_VERSION=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_FULL_NAME=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_NAME=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_SHORT_NAME=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_HARDWARE=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_KEYBOARD=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_WLAN_CHANNEL=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_FULL_NAME=<unknown>
OSSO_PRODUCT_NAME=<unknown>

Interestingly enough, reinstalling mplayer/sib/kmplayer reset those envs to their normal values which made Qik work as well. I'm not sure if the fault was with mplayer erasing those envs or something else.

I am having the same problem. I've searched T.M.O., but can't find anything but this thread. I've reinstalled the stuff in the previous post, but to no avail.

I don't feel like springing for the Pro version.

Hello, the fix that worked for my N900 was:

1. Try to run qik from command line:
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_NAME=Maemo\ 5 qik
if it will works correct, run next commands:

echo "ENV=/home/user/.ashrc" > ~/.profile
echo "export ENV" >> ~/.profile
echo "export OSSO_PRODUCT_FULL_NAME=Nokia N900" >> ~/.ashrc
echo "export OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_NAME=Maemo 5" >> ~/.ashrc

and reboot your phone.

Thank you.
