I mean this one - the commuter case

It's great. As I said above, you can use it while using the phone. Once you've got used to it, you hardly know it's there (except when you stay on the blower too long, it tries to slice your ear in two!).

So... are there any alternatives worth considering which are still available anywhere in the world (and shipping worldwide)?

Basically...no.

I received my boxwave cases. They look so good! But they kill the phone signal. I kinda suspected this might happen but I did not want to think about it.

And afaik you cannot open keyboard while in boxwave, right? I wouldn't mind killing part of phone signal if the box would allow me to open keyboard without much hassle.

Did not think about this! But I use it just as safe storage, not as day-by-day carry around box. So ...

Pictures and reviews, e.g. at http://nokiaexperts.com/review-otter...es-nokia-n900/ suggest that keyboard can be opened easily in that case... this makes (or made) otterbox almost perfect case for me...

oy, back of the line! no pushing in!

I think with a little dremel time the boxwave case could be split and made to behave like an otterbox. All you would have to do is slice off the hinges and the lock catch. Then shave ~1mm from the front so the keyboard could slide out. I have 2 boxwave cases, if I try it I will post pictures.

Maybe misjerc wants to reveal his secret supplier?

Thanks vi_ for spotting this one.
I immeadiately checked at 13:30 and there were still 9 left. Unfortunately it is overseas and with shipping and additional 20 % customs it is too much for what I spend for this.
So anybody in U.S. hurry ...

Or anybody (better: a few) near my location share the shipping.
