I have read all the thread since it was released but asking myself...
Will there be an option to overclock the DM3730? Or is 1GHz already the maximum? I haven't seen any answer for that.
I overclocked my OMAP-3430 in the N900 already to 1100MHz without any issues (when it is not used/in standby i am going down to 500-900MHz...)

My bad - some stupid bug in JS code. Should be fixed

while I generally dispise OC and probably won't test it since my device is too precious for me (can't tolerate the CPU to wear out at speeds way beyond what it's been designed to stay alive), here is a link courtesy Nikolaus:

But: draws more energy and needs special kernel tricks.

Not only the fundraiser, but also the feasibility study is there!

Good job and an interesting read.A lot of thought has gone into this, a few things I never even thought about. I guess that kind of thing tends to pop out when you start thinking about all the details. Well done, guys! (A bit of German has slipped in ("sollte wie beim BB gehen") but that is hardly a problem in this day and age .)

May I have a suggestion about the fundraising page. As well as the total amount, would it be possible to display the number of donations? Not that it's important, it's purely for the curious like me

Edit: On the topic of overclocking mentioned above. I overclocked my N900 to 900 MHz for a few months and did not notice any difference in day-to-day use. To me that is a clear indication that overclocking is pointless so I turned it off again.

On the overclock, I get my open pandora (DM3***) to run at 1.2ghz without an issue, generally 1.1ghz is rock stable. 1ghz is fine for everything (I don't like overclocking my OP)

Hi,
maybe it would also make sense to post a story to sites like slashdot or hackernews? Even if you don't agree with that course of action, I guess it's better if you guys post an entry there versus somebody unafiliated doing it in a way which you feel should've been done differently.

You can see the latest donations on http://shop.goldelico.com/wiki.php?p...A04%3ADonation (top 5 also includes donations from pre-Neo900 era, so of course that 2010 donation doesn't really apply to Neo900 )

For displaying the counter I'd have to bug Nikolaus to provide me some "API call" to get this data. Not a high priority, but this is already second request for that, so we'll probably look at it

I second the idea that core developers and goldelico write up and submit a press release type article for the tech sites rather than an uncontrolled release by someone who herd about the Neo900 from somebody. Key point to make is that we need to port Maemo5 over for this to meet its full possibility open app wise.

Bug report

In http://neo900.org/#donate I originally saw EUR 2860. I just donated EUR 200 and http://shop.goldelico.com/campaign/9603.php correctly reports EUR 3060 now.

However in http://neo900.org/#donate I see EUR 3600.

This:
Code:
valS = val%1000 + ((val%1000 < 100) ? "0" : "") + ((val%1000 < 10) ? "0" : "");
Looks very buggy. I would simply remove the space, i.e. valS = "" + val and let it be. After all, a number is a number is a number..
