CSSU fixes one huuuge bug - grey/gray chars display as black in osso-xterm. This is a workaround that also gives full 80x25 terminal.

in downloaded directory:
tar -xzvf mrxvt.tar.gz
sudo mv mrxvt-full /usr/bin/
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/mrxvt-full
mv .mrxvtrc /home/user/
sudo mv VeraMono_CP437.ttf /opt/usr/share/fonts/

Now edit .desktop files using
mrxvt-full -name FullScreen -e <actual .sh/binary/whatever>
as the command running the prog. Ctrl+F for fullscreen toggle (edit all things in .mrxvtrc). Also works on CSSU.

One known bug: losing focus when app switching. Fix: lock/unlock phone.

You forgot the font to download as well.

By the way, why don't you like Roxterm?

I know the menus are super ugly and don't even fit on the screen, but if you can work around this, you won't have to see it ever again once you have the correct settings.

Fonts are included in gzip. Roxterm has input problems (all caps instead of standard lowercase) that make mrxvt king on N900.

I saw this all CAPS also when tried to use vala-terminal (
http://vala-terminal.garage.maemo.org/ ) on N900. It seems to be bug/feature of libvte of Maemo5 (newer libvte is hard to compile because it needs much of newer underlying libraries).

I'm just guessing that roxterm use also (like vala-terminal) libvte.

Mrxvt is the only terminal that has relatively no input problems. Edit .mrxvtrc and you can customize shortcuts for copy/paste/fullscreen, whole geometry is customizable, fonts/colors etc. It doesn't use libvte? Neat.

I pushed mrxvt version 0.5.4-1 (from Ubuntu 11.04) to the extras-devel.

Works great, though I cannot figure how to turn off the menubar. Once I switch it off manually no way to access it to save config

One confirmed bug: as with non-recompiled ubuntu version switching apps while in Fullscreen mode looses focus (or stops refreshing to be more accurate) - quick fix: lock/unlock phone.

This deserves Announce in Applications I believe btw.

EDIT: to disable menubar from commandline add option '+showmenu' if anyone else was wondering.
