Aim: change source (origin) of all installed packages, override origin of installable packages to com.nokia.maemo
Targets: dpkg, package-manager, package-manager-ui
Advantages:
- no need to use inception/aegis-install
- all installations will receive any credentials it request
- you can install/upgrade any package requires set of high credentials using regular methods like clicking on deb file in filemanager, using dpkg -i in terminal, using pkgmgr and etc.
Disadvantages:
- possible security breach by overriding origin. any untrusted package can get high privileges
- you need to double-check packages before installations
- get packages only from trusted sites (like TMO and OpenRepos)

Simple cli tool and gui can show requested credentials before installation proceed.

Vote please and discuss.

Too much risk. People just D/L stuff from net without second thought. Then again N9 is such a niché phone that hard to think "bad" peoples to have interest to it...

Will it be a bit like new app permission manager in Android 4.3?

@nbedford hmm. Its nice idea. Need to test if it possible on harmattan.
But current idea is without any management. Full access to all packages.

Combined with *deb logging (OVIcatch) this is like instalserver on Symbian. People who use it know the risk, so it'd be extremely useful, maybe via toggle button or extra prompt? Very good idea!
