Hello, I used to be an extensive user of the WAP service before I got my N900 and realized that it doesn't support WAP protocol.

So is there any application out there that would make the N900 support WAP? not just wap pages but the whole wap connection?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Not related to smcard toolkit.

Basically WAP and WML is like http and html reinvented just to be different from your usual Internet protocols. It's of course a pain to write something from scratch for a dying protocol suite..

Nothing knows how to talk WAP, so it's rather pointless to try do that.

There was this option for OS2008

http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/wmlbrowser/

Maybe it can be converted for Maemo?

Don't know about the whole wap connection though.

well, ask frals if he is willing to expand mms into full wap system. my bet is that it is almost impossible considering bugs arised by fMMS. Maemo5 was meant to be internet -apn only and bugs are wontfix if i remember correctly so things will stay like that too.

thank you for your replies, I hope someone can develop a wap connection application, I know opera can render wap pages but I don't think that allows me to connect through the wap service.
