There was a major performance bug in the testing version, which is now fixed with 1.0.7 version. So if you tried the application before and it was really unstable. It was my bad..

There is now also support for hidden files and I am working on other coming features, like:
- copy, move, delete
- statistics
- gestures
- sharing

I have added the coming features to Roadmap @ http://projects.developer.nokia.com/...anager/roadmap.

great!

you should put icons there, like file and folder icons, and a white background

and make it freeware!

I will add that to roadmap as a milestone (http://projects.developer.nokia.com/...anager/roadmap).

That is already in the roadmap. The reason for the current black version is that it should consume less power according to N9 design documents. And another reason was that N950 is black, so the black was looking a lot more stylish ..maybe i will have to support all colors of N9, like pink and blue as well, instead of just black

The testing/unstable version is freeware and you can download it from http://www.jpii.fi/filemanager/testing or you can add the testing repository to your device
Code:
deb http://www.jpii.fi/filemanager testing/
after which you should get the latest updates automatically.

Only if you prefer stability and quality over functionality and latest features or if you would like to support the development, you can buy it from Ovi Store in the lowest price point available.

The reason why I started to work on this was that the tracker was taking minutes to scan the new debs in MyDocs.. So now I am able to just browse and install them asap. So this is my use-case for this app. And for just that purpose I wanted to have a simple app, which I could also use for debugging purposes during development of other applications. So my focus will be on those features rather than on bling-bling.

We already have stuff like this for N900, as far as I know. (Though yes it probably could be ported... Might be difficult though, depending on what versions of what it depends on.)

This application will not be available for N900, only for the MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan platform device N9/N950. One reason is that there are plenty of file managers for N900, another reason is that it uses Qt version and modules which is not available for N900.

Added an option to toggle between light/dark themes. Check if that looks good for your eyes

This actually started to bother me. So I gave it a try, but the blocker was at the end that the Qt Components in extras-devel repository for fremantle gave me segmentation faults when loading the PageStackWindow.

I spent then few minutes after that to create a quick-and-dirty version to test the C++ part of the application. If you are in a desperate need of yet another file manager, you can get it for N900 from http://jpii.fi/filemanager/testing/fremantle/. That comes without any kind of warranty and suitability for it's purpose. Although you should be able to browse files and execute them in external applications, if the file type is associated.
