I just found this today.
Basically, Nokia wants feedback on the N9 user interface -- your ideas of how to improve it. You write up your idea and other people can log into the site and vote for their favorites. Every week they look at the 15 most 'liked' ideas from the previous week, and the 3 judges (Nokia employees) decide which one is best and whoever submitted it will get an N9 for their efforts.
The first week is almost over, so I guess don't submit your idea today! They already have 660+ ideas and I can't find an easy way to browse them
Even if you don't have any idea of your own, please consider looking at and liking other ones. If Nokia actually pays attention we all win

Here is the site:

my idea is, to challenge (again) nokia to release the source code or whatever they stated as closed in Nokia N9...

i think that will lead to even further development than the ideasproject itself

My idea is that they make the ideasproject site easier to navigate... I really don't understand why they set it up like that, and the contest structure does nothing to discourage duplicate ideas. There's a lot of ideas there already that can't win because they are suggesting hardware upgrades and other impossible stuff. Oh well. I just hope we get some more options for customizing the 3 "views" or the lock screen out of this.

my current Idea is that Nokia ought to confirm first that this setup is going to benefit Harmattan development and sip through in future N9 / N10 patches.

Anyone?

Don't like to work for Microsoft for free.

Yeah I am also participating in it with 3 ideas of my own. The problem is the competition guidelines are quite vague. As far as I understood, they are asking not only for ideas to improve N9 UX but also how to improve smart-phones in the future, and other general ideas. That vagueness may be the reason for all those hardware related ideas.

My 3 submissions are
1. A seamless way to interact with multiple devices/platforms http://goo.gl/Dd5Kn
2. Improvements in caller-UI http://goo.gl/MJ3XB
3. Easier/Faster tab switching in N9 browser: http://goo.gl/xhSQs

I would be really grateful if my TMO brethren would view my ideas and if you like it then PLEASE "vote" for it(Vote means clicking LIKE button, after logging in with FB/Twitter). Also advises/suggestions/critiques are extremely welcome in the form of posts here or comments there.

The winners are selected by judges, but to be judged, we need to be in the top 15 based on votes/views. (that in turn means that if u view without voting too many times, my ratio will go down and I won't be eligible ). This is my only chance to get an N9 as it is not being released here in India, so I hope I'm among the winners...

Hey isfr29, your idea is ok, but there are many like it. So, adding images and diagrams would help to distinguish it better and bring in more votes.

Here is an excellent idea (not by me...): http://www.ideasproject.com/ideas/11376#comment-11231

Category bars for N9 app screen (and contacts to app screen also).

Please vote for it!

Actually, I read somewhere that Meego-Harmattan PR 1.2 will have folders implemented. Its almost ready, just some final touches remaining.

My idea is to add arrow keys to the virtual keyboard so that text editing would be less irritating. http://www.ideasproject.com/ideas/12122

Actually, I don't know if this is a problem for the english layout but atleast in the finnish layout arrow keys are missing.
