@Tone, what brush do you use often? I've tried a lot of brushes but didn't work as expected. I am used to the photoshop style of painting, or at least Sai Paint Tool if you're familiar with it. Thanks.

Well me, I am used to drawing on the computer, and using programs like Photoshop and Sai Paint Tool. These programs work great, from sketching until painting. The painting process is really flawless, it's just like everyday paint or colour. Now on Mypaint, there are tons of brushes, and the icons are somewhat small to read XD (can this be configured to be bigger?) and I can't seem to find an easy to use paint tool. Sorry for the long post ><"

you can set bigger only if you edit:
home/opt/mypaint/share/mypaint/gui/
brushselectionwindow.py
line:106
pixbuflist.Pixbuflist.__init__(self, self.brushes, 48, 48

change 48, 48 to 96, 96 for bigger icons.

that was also my problem.
any other problems?

Don't do that. You'll have a hard time using your N900!

Most works of art do not really have function so expecting drawings to have "use" is not very reasonable. They are nice to look at though.

By the way, what's the difference between the mypaint version in extras and the one in devel (other than the devel version being not hildonized)?
Thanks.

@wooorm - yes maybe, I am reading Scott McCloud's books "Making Comics" & "Understanding Comics" and also ordered Will Eisner's "Comics and Sequential Art: Principles and Practices from the Legendary Cartoonist" book

@Akkumaru & SHARP66 - Nowadays I am using very minimal set of brushes - link to the current iteration ->
http://tonikasurinen.fi/MyPaint_Stuff/Tone180813.zip

I am using mostly those Flat variant brush types, but it may change anytime .

I am using lot of Layers and I have mapped Layer creation, opacity control and merging to shortcut keys.

Color properties (Brighter/Darker + warmer/cooler + purer/grayer) = (shortcut keys)

I Pick Colors constantly

Brush Size and Opacity = (shortcut keys)

and All Brushkey Slots are filled with my favorite brushes so I do not have to use
brushlist when working. = SPEED

Hope that helps a little.

Someday, I may do some crappy youtube video
how I paint sweet sweet blueberries.
