Please provide your steps. Does the "Select connection" window display anything?

I played around with my N900 for several days before inserting a SIM card and WiFi worked fine.

Why would SIM card status make any difference for WiFi connectivity?

Have you installed any of the applications that help you to turn WiFi off and on? At least one of them unloads the kernel module to save power.

Without that kernel module loaded, WiFi will not work at all.

I have "WifiInfo" on my N900..
"today" I am not able to push the Power-Saving "OFF" button..

yesterday i had some installations to compile code on my N900..
I made this with X-Terminal and apt-get
Maybe is destroyed the kernel for Wifi while trying to get more space on root..

I also made this to save power..

Code:
echo 1 > /sys/power/sr_vdd1_autocomp
echo 1 > /sys/power/sr_vdd2_autocomp
You can also enable it by editing /etc/pmconfig and changing the appropriate
values to 1, and rebooting.
But already revoked this settings..

how can i see if kernel for Wifi is running?
how is ist named?

Maybe.. do i have to flash? (With eMMC?!?)

TY
