Nope, that's just the way transmission is. Try reducing the maximum number of peers you can connect to in the settings.

Maximum number of peers was reduced to 5 overnight.
Maximum download speed limit was reduced to 50 (I have 5Mbit bandwidth)
Maximum upload speed limit was reduced to 10 (I have 1Mbit bandwidth)

Just ran transmission again with deleted tunings.
With max download changed to 150, downloaded about 250MB in about an hour.
System did slow down a bit, but did not hang.

Feature request:
Besides Proposed I would like 2 more settings:
1) Default - default N900 settings
2) Custom - custom values which when modified could be saved from menu.

Both are in my todo list and are easy to implement.

The problem is to fit two more buttons in that space.

Thus my priority is to make it a scrollable window with a row of buttons on the right. Up to now I haven't been successful but I've learned some new tricks during the tests.

It's just a matter of time.. cheers

So Guys there are two clear sections of people who say that Post having PR 1.3 installed in their device there is no need to have Swappolube in addition to that, all the features of Swappolube have already been integrated in PR 1.3. But some of them have still gone ahead and installed Swappolube. My question is will having Swappolube in addition to the PR 1.3 if already installed in the device, does it make the device any more faster and smoother ? I am kinda confused !!

@robb: I ran Transmission with proposed settings without any problems, download around 300kB/s.

@augustya: this was answered earlier in this thread by debernardis.

Saturn:

Have you thought about adding the Lennart Poettering's cgroup hack to .bashrc in Swappoluble?:

Swappolube has a number of easily configurable settings that undeniably PR1.3 doesn't have. I think that 100% of us can agree on that. Thus it is a research and learning tool. Most people also say it makes things faster. If it doesn't seem to you to speed anything up, you are permitted to delete it.
